Citizens Complaints

What they are and how to submit one

The Prosecuting Attorney’s office for the Ninth-East Judicial District prosecutes criminal offenses that occur in Clark County.  In some instances, misdemeanor offenses may be prosecuted by the city attorney of the city in which the offense occurs.

The Citizen Complaint is a method by which a person can seek to file charges against someone who has committed a criminal offense that fits within the jurisdictional limits of the Clark County District Court.  Ultimately, the decision to file charges rests with the prosecutor’s office or respective city attorney.  However, citizens may file complaints with our office during normal working hours – 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

If you have questions about the process, you may contact our office at (870) 246-9868; however, citizen complaints must be completed and executed in person within our office during normal working hours.
